We So Need to Catch Up!

Happy Weekend SP Bloggers!  For the past couple of weeks, our blog's been dedicated to our Egg-stravaganza.  So you can imagine just how much we have to catch up on, including the Sizzix event, the SP Garage Sale, April classes, another guest teacher (woo hoo!), and, of course, lots of new stuff!  So grab your favorite beverage and enjoy reading on ...

First, a huge "Thanks!" to all who got involved in our recent Egg-stravaganza event! We hope it provided you with a little inspiration that you can use in your other scrapping and cardmaking projects.  Congratulations to our random drawing winners from blog posts and egg-stravaganza project posts, Debbie G. and Carol B.!

Tim Holtz, one of our faves, signed one of the eggs
while we were at CHA.  We hear he even peeked
at all of the creations posted to our blog.

Thanks too to the Sizzix Ladies and SP customers who helped make the Sizzix / eClips demo such a great success.  We hope you enjoyed learning about the incredibly versatile eClips machine, while also spending time with SP friends and creating a gorgeous "make & take" card.  Check out our class calendar for additional opportunities to learn more about this terrific new tool!

At our SP Sizzix event, guests from Sizzix provided instruction
on how to use the eClips with the new Stamp & Cut
products by Sizzix & Tim Holtz!

We all agreed ... the eClips tool is amazing!

And so easy to use!
This is the card our Sizzix event guests made. Some of what
we used included the Stamp & Cut on the eClips, a Sizzix
embossing folder and a Sizzix/Tim Holtz On the Edge die cut.

Speaking of classes, we have classes galore this month!  In addition to the eClips classes, there are LOMS (Layout of the Month), Mixed Media, Seasonal, Basic Grey, Scrappin' with Renee, Shabby Chic, Heritage, QuicKutz Club, Card Making, and crops too!  Hope I didn't forget any, but you can tell there's something for everyone at the Playground!  Please check out the April calendar and give us a call to reserve your spot in this month's classes!

This weekend is our first ever SP Garage Sale, and from the initial feedback, it's likely not our last!  We hope you get a chance to swing by today and tomorrow (March 31 and April 1) to take advantage of some great deals!  And that's NO April Fool's joke!

Garage salers rented space, brought in their products and
the Playground team did the rest.  Here LynnMarie and
Miriam -- organizers extraordinaire -- help check out one
of the garage sale customers.  Lots of smiles for good deals!

Every table had lots of goodies, including stamps,
papers, organizers and tools too!

It was a bit like a treasure hunt ... and there are lots of
treasures to be discovered and enjoyed!

As you may know, we were thrilled to recently have Joey from Bazzill visit the Playground for a couple of days of great workshops.  We are equally excited to have mixed media artist, Marah Johnson, returning to the Playground for what promises to be fun and interesting workshops that will let your inner creative diva soar!  Save the date for Marah's workshops on May 23 and May 24 -- additional details to follow!

This is one of Marah Johnson's projects that is just too cool.
Bet you couldn't tell this is in the center of an old book!
Come on in and see the actual project at the Playground!

Here are some samples of Marah's art journal
backgrounds and funky collage techniques

And of course, there's always something new hitting the shelves at Scrapper's Playground, including the latest goodies from Ranger, Tim Holtz and Art Impressions, as well as new paper collections from Glitz, My Little Shoe Box, Echo Park and Bella Blvd.  Browse through the pictures below to your heart's content and then come on in, grab a bucket and pick up those things that are sure to make your scrapping, card-making and crafting day!

  1. I was right Renee. I did see the My Little shoebox papers with the Asian flair on the blog pages here. Thanks for thinking of me. I can't wait to use them all. Nick and I should have a scrap off!!!
