Back to School ...

Hi SP Bloggers ... hope you are enjoying these final days of summer.

Imagine many of you spent last week getting your kids ready for the first day of the new school year. It's always an exciting time with the promise of new beginnings and adventures that lie ahead. And there are always great school papers that come out every year around this time. With college kids, this blogger may not have any more "first day" pictures, but that doesn't mean I can't scrap, as shown here with Back to School (No More) made with the Moxie Braniac paper line.

Fun looking back at a past First Day of School.
Used Moxie Braniac line with Tim Holtz Distress stained tissue tape.
Fussy cut and popped backpack & books at bottom of picture.

We all love roaming the Playground to find the latest additions to the shelves. One new product you'll want to play with is Milk Paint by American Crafts. It's powder paint that you mix a little with water (the more water, the more translucent; use over gesso for a more opaque result) and then use it on porous stuff (chipboard, wood pieces, and more). Mix it smooth or leave it with some little lumps for texture.  There's no right or wrong -- just grab a pack and try something new. Have fun and we hope to see you soon at the Playground!

Here are just some of the Milk Paints (they come in pairs).
There are other colors available too!
