What's New You Ask?

Hi SP Bloggers ...  It's no surprise that the battle of the boxes continues at the Playground.  Just as Renee and the rest of the Playground team get a leg up, the UPS guy pulls up again (ha!).  It's been a little while since the last blog so lots to catch up on.

The September SP Challenge ends Monday, September 12.  You need to incorporate a favorite song lyric into your title or journaling and use a Tim Holtz or Sizzix embossing folder for some element of your card or scrapbook page.  We've gotten some great submissions that we'll post to the blog next week ... but there's still time to find some creative time this weekend to work on yours!  Email a photo of your finished Challenge project, along with your name, to scrappersplayground.angie@gmail.com by end of day Monday.  First 10 local entries get a free goodie bag from the Playground crew.

Lots of new stuff still hitting the shelves, such as the new gorgeous Bo Bunny Forever Fall line.  Again, I found myself taking paper off the shelves to take the picture for you below, only to find those same papers in my shopping bucket. There are even more fall papers by other companies, but we'll post those tomorrow!

You're gonna love using the new Viva Decor Pearl Pens in your projects. How you use them is limited only by your imagination. The most popular use for these fine tipped Pearl Pens is to create pearls (hence the name), similar to what you might do with Stickles. Hold the Pearl Pen upright and slowly give it a squeeze to create a "pearl" -- the more you squeeze, the bigger the pearl. Use 'em to make a pearl border around your featured photo, create dimensional flower centers, decorate your title letters ... the list goes on and on. (Quick Tip: If your pearl ends up with a pointy peak, just turn your paper over and give it a gentle flick near the area you used the Pearl Pen and it smooths out the point.)

All of us at the Playground will be taking time to reflect on the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attack.  Seems as if it happened just not so long ago. Our hearts and prayers go out to all who were touched by this tragedy.  Stay strong and proud.
