Today we are releasing the first layout from Jeanette Giancaspro from our Design team. This layout along with the other projects are hanging up on the wall to the right of the door as soon as you walk into Scrapper's Playground. Our Design Team is doing an awesome job on these projects and have inspired others to think outside the box! Please feel free to ask any of our Staff for information on the products that were used on these layouts.

I really stepped outside the box with this layout,
because I don’t usually use paint on my scrapbook pages. Not only did I use paint on this layout, but
I used a LOT of paint – at least for me!
To create the background, I first laid out my pictures
without adhering them. I drew lines so
that my painted hearts would be in a straight line. Then I scribbled Gelatos in colors that
matched my papers onto my craft sheet.
After wetting a paintbrush, I mixed the water in with the Gelatos to
create watercolors. Then I painted
free-hand hearts onto the pink background papers. After they were dry, I outlined the hearts
with a black fine-tipped marker. To add
more detail, I wet my paintbrush with a lot of water and splattered paint where
the hearts were.
After adhering my photos, I added letter stickers to
create the title and wrote the journaling on a journaling card. Because the card was a little too big, I
trimmed it down a little. Another
adjustment I made was taking apart one of the sticker embellishments and
re-assembling it. I wanted to re-layer
the doily flower, so I gently pulled apart the layers and re-assembled the
flower. I wanted to have the doily layer
under the “Remember Today” card and the vellum layer and felt center on top of
it.
I used two more cut-apart cards and some enamel
embellishments, but I wanted to add a few more details. That’s when I turned to the clear stamps that
are part of the collection. I stamped
them onto white cardstock, punched them out with circle punches, and added some
Wink of Stella markers. After adding a
little more journaling, I was happy with my
“out-of-the-box” layout.
Love that you incorporated Gelatto's on your page.
ReplyDeleteFor a person who doesn't use paint you did a great job. You wouldn't even know you were working out of your comfort zone.
