At first, I thought about painting the angel or covering her in pretty paper, but since I love metal so much, I decided to use that instead.  I started by tracing the angel and her wings onto the foil cardstock, then cut them out.  Then I got to work embossing the metal using the Ten Seconds Studio mold and Studio 71 blending stumps.  I gave her a coat of Glossy Accents and wrapped the embossed metal around her.  I coated her back in Glossy Accents and attached the foil cardstock to cover the metal edges. 

 

I attached the wings to the foil cardstock (shiny side up so the mirror finish shows through) and adhered them to her back with Zots.  I used Glossy Accents to add all of her finishing touches.  If I could draw well, she'd have a face :)  Since I can't, please feel free to use your imagination.  Or your marker.  Or your paint brush.  Or.....well, you get the idea. :)

This month's project combined a product I've never seen, let alone used (Ten Seconds Studios Kabuka Mold), with a product I love (metal!).  Super cool!!  The Kabuka Mold is a double sided embossing plate.  I used it by laying the craft metal on top of certain portions of the embossed design, then used the blending stumps to mold the metal to the design underneath.  (I'm thinking it would be pretty cool to run the plate through my Big Shot with the metal, or even grunge or chip or cardstock or what about acrylic (!), oh the possibilities!!). 

 

First I chose certain patterns on the embossing plate to emboss the metal.  Then I cut the metal and the grunge paper using dies and the Big Shot.  The sun is alcohol inked, but the rest of the pieces are the various colors the metal came in.  I adhered the die cut metal flowers to the die cut grunge paper flowers so that I could mold them easily.  I snipped the prongs off the brads and adhered them to the centers of the flowers.

 

I stained the burlap panel, dried it, then adhered all the metal pieces to it before attaching it to the patterned chipboard.  I punched a hole through the chip and attached the Metal Buckles to hold the ribbon hanger.

 

Using different shapes, this could make a cute baby gift (blocks, rubber ducks), a wedding or housewarming gift (personalized with their name), a birthday gift (with their age on it) or even something for the kids dorm room (with their name in school colors).  So many possibilities!!
