When I opened my bag of supplies, imagine my surprise to find NO Stamps, and NO coloring supplies.  What to do?  What to do? 

 

But the pack of pattern paper is beautiful!  And there were clear "Thank You" stickers, along with other stickers, and pearls. Ok -- I can make this work.

 

I LOVE pattern paper -- and so do most of you -- or we wouldn't be in this hobby! 

So I looked online for a "sketch" that would incorporate several pattern papers, and I found this one from a site called "Retro Sketches"  http://retrosketches.blogspot.com/2013/08/retrosketches-79.html

 

I decided to use the sketch with the supplies to make 2 Thank you cards - one more feminine, one more masculine.  All papers are from the original paper pack.  Choosing different papers creates a different feel to your card. 

 

For the feminine card, I used pink colors, and florals.  I rounded the corners, added some sparkle from "Wink of Stella" pen, and added the pearls.

 

For the masculine card, I used the wood grain and hounds tooth paper.  I distressed the edges, and added some Distress ink.

 

These cards along with my next set were so much fun to make, and so easy!  I loved the Thank you stickers -- they helped the cards come together very quickly.  If you need a card quickly, you should really consider some of these stickers, and a pattern paper pack!!

For the first (blue teal with stripes and polka dot), I cut the polka dot on an angle.  Then I layered the top of the polka dots with a strip cut from the diagonal paper.  I cut a solid piece of teal, and layered another strip of diagonal paper.  This panel was popped over the polka dot paper.  The Thank you was cut from the sticker sheet.  A few pearls to set if off, and done!  CAS (clean and simple) and QAE (quick and easy)

 

The last card was a bit trickier to make.  I layered the bottom of the cardstock with the black floral paper (I LOVE this paper!).  The top chartreuse paper was a bit of a challenge to cut.  I cut an angle a bit larger than 90 degrees (an obtuse angle for you mathematicians) . It was larger than the card, and hung over the edge, but that's ok.  I popped this solid piece up.  I turned the card over, and trimmed off the excess edges.  Another Thank You sticker, some pink pearls, and done!

 

I really like these 2 cards also.  So simple, but pretty.

The inspiration for this card came from the adorable Doodlebug quote stickers. When I saw all of the different speech bubbles, I knew I wanted that to be the theme of my card. To create this card, I cut an A2 card with a top fold from the bright green cardstock. I then cut another panel to measure 4" x 5.25". Using VersaMark ink, I randomly stamped the two speech bubbles from the Loved stamp set. I sprinkled with clear embossing powder, zapped it with my heat tool and set it aside.

Next, I cut a number of strips of pattern paper with widths varying from 3/8" to 3/4". (By keeping my widths narrow, I ensured that I have enough pattern paper left to cover a card front. You can also use leftover scraps for this technique.)  I took a piece of scrap computer paper and cut it down to 2" x 4".  I covered one side of the computer paper completely with adhesive and then layered the strips on a diagonal. When the entire surface was covered, I flipped it over and trimmed the strips of paper. I used Tim Holtz Shabby Shutters distress ink to ink the edges. This step is very important because it gives all of the different papers a cohesive look. I adhered this to the bottom of the stamped block. I used a piece of ScorTape to adhere the ribbon and foam adhesive to adhere the panel to the card.

I added sparkle to the "Smile" sticker with a Wink of Stella Brush pen. Love this pen! Seriously, every card maker should have one (or two or three)! To enlarge the sticker, I placed it on a piece of coordinating and fussy cut around it. Then I used a Signo gel pen (my other favorite pen) to add the white faux stitching.After popping the stickers on foam adhesive, I added them to my card. Because the embossing made the card surface slick, I added a squirt of Glossy Accents under each foam dot. The inside sentiment reads: you are loved. I think this would be a fun and cheery card to send to a teen who just went off to college. 

This card is so cute and would make a great card to send to someone you haven't seen in a while!

I have heard a lot about SRM stickers but have never used them so I was excited to give them a try. Each sticker sheet comes with more than 20 sentiments. Talk about a bargain! If you are mass producing cards, these stickers would be perfect. Since I was only making one card with the stickers today, I decided to use multiple stickers for maximum impact. 

To begin, I cut a standard A2 card with a side fold. I then cut the floral pattern paper to measure 4" x 5.25 inches and adhered it to my card front. Next, I measured the width of the sentiment stickers that I wanted to feature on my card and cut a strip of blue cardstock to measure 2"x 5.5". (I would later cut the width down to measure 1 7/8".) 

Since I wanted to play around with the arrangement of my sentiments, I cut each sentiment off the sheet leaving the backing on. This enabled me to move each sentiment around until I got the placement I wanted. (The flowers were attached to other sentiments but I just used a straight cut to take them off the sheet.) 

I Started  from the bottom and worked up to place the stickers on the strip. The Tim Holtz Design Ruler was very helpful to make sure that each sentiment was centered. Although I was working very carefully, my hand did slip and I adhered one sticker off center. I thought the card was ruined. However, I was able to carefully pull it up without ripping the cardstock. I was very pleasantly surprised at how forgiving the sticker was. I found that using my Cutter Bee Tweezers was very helpful in placing the stickers from that point on.  When I had all of the stickers in place, I used a bone folder to burnish them into the cardstock.

Next, I used a border punch to create a scalloped border that I adhered under the sentiment panel. I also cut two 1/8' x 5.5" strips and adhered them to the outside edges of the cardstock with a liquid adhesive. I adhered the entire panel off-center on my card and then used Gloss Accents to add the bow. Finally, I added the pearls using Glossy Accents to adhere the largest one to the bow. 

Great use of the stickers and love the card!

To create the glittered balloons, I die-cut patterned paper and applied dry adhesive to the fronts of the balloons.  (You could use wet glue, but the paper might warp.)   Then I sprinkled fine glitter over the adhesive.

To color the wood veneer shapes, I applied Gelatos directly to the veneer and smoothed them out with my fingers.  

Great job Jeanette!  I love the balloon and the use of the wood veneer shapes!

In my first layout, I used the Fancy Pants Down By The Shore Saltwater paper as a base for my layouts. I cut a piece of Blue Bazzill Cardstock to 7x12 and placed it on the Saltwater paper. Once they were attached, I placed 4 different tape stickers around the edges of the Bazzill paper. I teared the edges of the Fancy Pants Ocean Life paper and placed across the center of the layout. I matted my photos with Red Bazzill Cardstock. After attaching photos to my layouts, I used the Jillibean Alphas for the title. I embellished with the sticker fundamentals and added journaling with the chic tags atc.

I cut the Echo Park Summer Waves paper to 6x6 and matted with Yellow Bazzill Cardstock.  I then matted my photo with Yellow Bazzill Cardstock.  I cut the Echo Park Summer Big Dots paper to 8x8 and matted with Yellow Bazzill Cardstock.  I placed the matted Big Dots paper onto a piece of cardstock, then placed the Summer Waves paper on top. I then added photo to layout and used Washi Tape in corners.  I added tape with the Jillibean Soup Stickers. I then embellished the sun from the Element Stickers with button. I added journaling, embellished with decorative brads and added element stickers to embellish layouts. I also added the Jillibean soup Corrugated Shape to the layout.
