Join us as we Welcome Back Joey Otlo!

On November 2nd, Joey Otlo from Bazzill will be here.  Joey will be making a Christmas Album, 3 Christmas Cards and a double page layout.  The Christmas Album is from 10am-12:30pm.  The cost is $30.00.  Joey will be using the Bazzill Count Down to Christmas Paper for the album.  The double page layout and card class will be from 1:30pm-3:30pm.  Joey will be making a double page layout and 3 cards using the Nordic Pines Paper Line.  The cost is $24.00.  Classes with Joey are always fun and she will be having (extra) instructions/kits that you can purchase.  Call (631)539-9888 or stop by the store to register for these classes.

Today we are releasing this month's layouts from Jennifer from our Design team. These layouts along with the other projects are hanging up on the wall to the right of the door as soon as you walk into Scrapper's Playground. Our Design Team is doing an awesome job on these projects and have inspired others to think outside the box!  Please feel free to ask any of our Staff for information on the products that were used on these layouts.

Simple Stories Smarty Pants Orange notebook

I used the Simple Stories Orange Notebook for my base. I then cut out the school rocks from the border and title sheet paper.  I cut the Smarty Pants Green Composition to 9x7, cut the Smarty Pants School Days to 10x8 and adhered it to base paper. Layer green composition paper on top and add border strip to bottom. I cut out the bingo cards and layered them on the border strip. I cut out the back to school from the horizontal journaling card elements and attached to layout. I attached the green ribbon across the layout and added the name to the pencil. I then embellished with chipboard and sticker embellishments. All paper edges I inked with Memento Ink.

I cut the Be Thrive paper to 8x8 and matted it with cardstock. I added a 2x8 paper strip of the pattern on the opposite side to the middle. Cut the Be Live paper to 9x9 and mat with cardstock. Mat photo with cardstock and add to layout. Add the journal card, journal and embellish with chipboard stickers and label stickers. Add title with Basic Grey Alphabet. Add clear jewels to center of flowers and add enamel dots to embellish layout.

Design Team Cards by Carol - Part 2

Today we are releasing the second set of cards from Carol Celeste from our Design team. My Mind’s Eye – The Sweetest Thing (Bluebell) stamp set and 6x6 paper pad

Supplies:

·       Bazzill Card Shoppe Cardstock

·       My Mind’s Eye Bluebell stamp set, 6x6 paper, and enamel dots

·       Faber Castell Mix and Match Media Sets in yellow and green

·       Versamark and white embossing powder

I stamped the small tri-flower image, and then masked it off to stamp the larger flower.  All were colored with the Faber Castell Art GRIP Aquarelle Water Color Pencils and PITT Pastel Pencil.  Then blended with water.

I used the metallic green Gelato from the Faber Castell set to edge the papers.  Then softened it with my fingers.  This really gives the paper a very nice shine. 

I selectively inked the doily from the stamp set with Versamark, heat embossed it with white, then cut it out.  I embossed the flower set to create the flower embellishment at the end of the banner.    I used the sentiment image from inside the frame of this set – stamped with Versamark, and embossed with black.  The banner was “popped” with pop dots. 

CAS (clean and simple) card

Supplies:

·      Bazzill Card Shoppe Cardstock

·      My Mind’s Eye Bluebell stamp set, and 6x6 paper

·      Faber Castell Mix and Match Media Set in yellow

·      Sentiment set from Inky Antics

·      Viva Pearl Pen in yellow

·      Scoring Tool

I scored lines from the top at ¾ inch and 1 ¼ inch – then from the bottom at 1 ¼ inch and 1 ¾ inch.  I cut and adhered 2 strips of paper just slightly less than ½ inch to fit between the scored lines, and the bottom piece was cut just less than 1 ¼ inch. 

I inked the frame from My Mind’s Eye stamp set with the Metallic yellow PITT Artist Pen and stamped that.  The flowers from the same set were inked with Archival Blank ink.  I used the sentiment from Inky Antics, which fit perfectly inside the frame – don’t you just love when things go together well!! 

I used the Pearl pen to add dots to the center of the flowers.  This is a very cool pen because you can size the dots to whatever you want!  They come in a variety of colors!

To put this layout together, I used Bazzill Blue 12x12 Cardstock for my background. I then cut the Stripes Forever paper to 6x12. I then cut 1 1/2 inches from the Freedom paper and 1/4 inch from Waves of Grain and added them to my layout. I then then added from the Bazzill Basic Sticker Sheet the border. I then cut 1/2 inch the Freedom paper and added that to my layout. I matted my 4x6 and 4x4 pictures on Bazzill White Cardstock. I then added Bazzill Antique Paper tape in Nautical and used 2 stickers from the Freedom Line and used Foam Dots to adhere to my layout. I then with a paint brush added Dyan Reaveley's Dylusions in White Linen to make dots. For the final touch I added Jillibean Soup Sticker in Tomato Red for the word Celebrate and Freedom from the sticker sheet.

I started my second page of  my layout using Bazzill's Light Blue 12x12 Cardstock.  I then cut the Yankee Doodle Paper to 10x10 using the Fiskar's Scallop Scissors (which are fantastic).  I then layered all the great double sided papers to 3 1/2 x 5 pieces form Waves of Grain.  I then cut 2x4  from Striped Forever and cut a 2x2 and 1 1/2  from Pledge Allegiance paper.  I added two 4x6 photos. Then for the embellishments I stapled Navy Blue Ribbon for the banner stickers from the Freedom Sticker Sheet and added Foam Dots to some to give it some dimension. For the title I used the Jillibean Red Letter Stickers and some paper tape and the date and then added Dyan Reaveley's Dylusions Ink Spray Dots.

The Bee Hut Bird House

Good Morning Bloggers:

It's time to release our next bird house by Dee Mamma called "The Bee Hut". 

MATERIALS USED:

Bazzill Paper - Emulator and Lemon Custard
Galore and More Buttons
Basic Grey Flags for sign

Dee sanded and inked D.I. frayed burlap and attached it to the roof of the house.  She then covered the bird house with Bazzill's Lemon Custard Two Scoop Paper.  She attached the Basic Grey flag sign to the right of the opening on the front of the bird house.  She then added the Galore and More Buttons to the bird house.  Button she used were the Bees, Bee Hives and Lady Bugs. As a finishing touch Dee added little pieces of frayed paper to make it look like part of the nest coming out of the house.
